great concept but the gameplay was a disappointment

one of the most frustrating games ive played in a long time, the text frames do hurt ur eyes and annoy the hell out of me! They kill the flow of the game. I know that they are to give the feel of a silent film, but EVERY TIME you jump, kill an enemy or get a coin?? why???
